Pricing, Quotes & Estimates

If you would like to discuss availability and pricing for a specific project, please send an email with the following information:

  • your company and location (name, mailing address, fax number)
  • your personal contact info (including daytime phone number)
  • detailed description of the work required

I'd like to request that the above information appear directly in the body of your email and not in an attachment. Upon initial contact by email, we can discuss your needs via telephone if you prefer.

Pricing Guidelines

Obviously, pricing for services depends on the scope of your requirements. Most jobs will be quoted on a fixed fee basis. If you're looking for a rough estimate (in the absence of any other details), figure on a minimum of $500 for any work that involves custom design/development or copy writing.

User Manual Conversion

As an example, over the past couple of years, I have received many requests along the lines of "I have a user manual and would like a template that makes it look more professional. Can you do this?"

The short answer is yes. However, it's not a simple $60 job.

To save time for both parties, if you have a similar request to make, here is my current standard response.

Without benefit of any other information, for work that involves just creation of a custom MS Word template that you can take and implement on your own, I would charge a flat fee, starting at $250 (depending on how much consultation is required).

For additional work that involves taking what you have and installing it into a new template with minor editing, the hourly charge will be $50. If I have to re-write and create new content, the charge is $60/hr.

Contracts and Payments

Clients will be required to sign a basic contract agreement outlining the scope of work requested. This contract will state the specific fee, expected currency (US or Canadian dollars) and payment terms. Paypal is acceptable for small contracts.
